Aloha Friday Issue 1

Happy Aloha Friday

Welcome to a newly redesigned daejafallas.com and the new “Aloha Friday” newsletter for Hawai’i creatives and businesses. I will be highlighting work done here in Hawai’i for local and international businesses along with some crew spotlights, news about town and more. I look forward to sharing a few of these throughout the year so please have a look around and stay a while!

KOHO CHOCOLATES, WELCOME STRANGER and an all female crew!

Alongside the Creative Direction of Jesse and Scott at Welcome Stranger Co we created a colorful and modern campaign around Koho Chocolate’s new Praline Line. It was an honor to be the photographer/ director on this all female team. Calling in everyone’s favorite wardrobe stylist we asked Lindsey Higa ( who you know as Pineapple Ice) to create a wardrobe around the colors of each praline. We then tapped Roxy Facer to be the director of photography and editor, as well as Aja Toscano of Pond Productions who seamlessly navigated the busiest parts of Waikiki and planned a fantastic shoot day. Nani Welch Keiliihoomalu brought the lights and Sara Uduwela was on digi. To see more of the shoot click here.

SLOWTIDE X SIG ZANE for Continued Maui Fire Relief

A campaign for Sig Zane Designs and Slowtide’s latest Collection. ʻUlu O Lele, designed just after the fires, was their initial offering to raise aid for the devastated town. More than just functional, each item carries a deeper meaning. The ʻulu tree represents inspiration and resilience, and through this collection, we share our care, hope, and commitment. 10% of the net proceeds from this collection will be donated to Help Maui Rise, a nonprofit organization that directly supports Maui families affected by wildfires.

FAHERTY - Malama Campaign

Makoa Ah Sam by photographer Daeja Fallas for Faherty

East Coast meets Hawaii in this shoot for Faherty Brand. To begin building a campaign around the idea of “Malama” I called on Aja Toscano of Pond Productions and an entirely local cast and crew to bring this campaign to life. We photographed Amanda Robson of Feast Hawaii, and director of the Hawaii Water Code Film, Makoa Ah Sam, Leslie and Tamika of Aloha Missions and the surfrider foundation along with other Maui residents who embody the idea of Malama.
